From the Civil War onward, the federal government has operated as a corporate entity controlled by the City of London. Ten years after the war began, in 1871, a new constitution was written for the bankrupted United States -- one that was to apply to the District of Colombia but which was extended to all citizens among the sovereign states of the nation.
